About Us

Council on Aging Services for Seniors is the preeminent senior social services agency in Sonoma County. A private 501(c)(3) that has been serving Sonoma County residents since 1966, we help seniors and their families through the challenges of aging with a variety of programs and services. Every year we receive over 30,000 inquiries from seniors, their families, and friends seeking resources.

Council on Aging provides 19 programs through four departments including Legal, Financial, Social, and Nutrition. We are here to serve over 130,000 seniors and their families in Sonoma County. 41% of these seniors are considered low income.

Meals on Wheels provides safety checks and face to face contact along with nutritious, home-delivered meals to over 2,000 isolated and homebound seniors each year. We currently produce over 3,800 meals per week, have 46 delivery routes throughout Sonoma County, and dining sites where seniors can access nutritious meals in a social setting.

Council on Aging is committed to reducing food insecurity in the elderly. The commitment costs over a million dollars annually. Only 38% of the program is supplemented by the federal government. We must rely on the support and generosity of the community to cover the remaining costs of the program.
